Prayer Thought: I’m Dead. Are You?

Prayer Thought: I’m Dead. Are You? Here, ladies and gents, on this the first day of June, in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty Two, is your theologic-logic for the week. This is a quote from good ole Charles Stanley, “Have you acknowledged your freedom from sin’s power? Or have you been relying on your feelings as indicators of your relationship to sin? Your feelings will tell you that nothing has changed; everything is as it’s always been. But God says you’re different. He says you’re dead to sin…and dead people are free from the power of sin.” …

Prayer Thought: Silence Brings Forth Wisdom

Prayer Thought: Silence Brings Forth Wisdom “Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom.”                            – Sir Francis Bacon I have often wondered what the Israelites did, thought, and felt during the 400 years of silence between the end of Malachi and the pronouncement that FINALLY God spoke again…and He did it in monumental form, we might add. Afterall, the coming Messiah, the Son of God, Jesus Christ the Savior of the world, after 14 generations came on the scene. Wow, incredible! But what about the 4 centuries of silence before that? Prayer Thought: What is the Greater Work?

Prayer Thought: What is the Greater Work? Many of you have heard/ read this quote before, but I think it’s timely right now for us:  “Prayer does not fit me for the greater work. Prayer IS the greater work (Oswald Chambers).” Seems to be what is necessary right now with so many moving parts happening in our world but even more close to home, in our office. We’re working on so many things that we MUST make praying about them priority #1! Prayer Action:  Pray diligently about your portion of God’s mighty work. Pray boldly this week, asking God to …

Prayer Thought: Our Great Security

Prayer Thought: Our Great Security Here’s what we know to be true: Jesus Christ, the God-Man, is the only One who can boast that He defeated death. And because He has defeated death He is alive and active in this world. Because he is alive and active in this world He beckons His sheep to come and take refuge in Him. Because we can take refuge in Him we believe what Jesus says in John 10:29, “My Father, who has given them (believers/ the sheep) to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of …

Prayer Thought: Don’t Just Say Grace

Prayer Thought: Don’t Just Say Grace We all do it. It’s an interesting issue and topic of discussion, to be certain. What is meant by the phrase, “Let’s say grace.” Or “Who’s asking the blessing?” It’s almost a knee-jerk reaction for those who grew up in church. And for those that didn’t but started going, they learned really quickly that nobody eats before we “say grace!” I’m not at all saying we shouldn’t thank the Lord for our blessings of food and drink and many, many other wonderful things He has provided for us.  But this word GRACE has baffled …
