Prayer Thought: Enthralled in His Presence

Prayer Thought: Enthralled in His Presence “He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me (Ps. 18:19)” “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart (Ps. 37:4)” The Advanced English Dictionary’s simplest definition of the word delight is; “to give pleasure to or, to be pleasing to.” But I prefer to define delight as a verb; “To hold spellbound. To enchant, enrapture, transport, enthrall, ravish.”  When was the last time you could remember being spellbound by God’s presence? Enraptured? Enthralled? Transported? God delights in us with …

OOPS, I Did it Again! How Becoming an Accidental Pharisee is one of the Most Devastating Killers in the Lives of Missionaries and Church Leaders: Part 1

It began as a decent morning. I got up out of bed with a bit of a spring in my step. I was excited for the day to begin. Some of you may think I’m crazy for saying this, but I had a meeting on this particular day (yes, you read that right), and was pretty jazzed about it, truth be told! I was headed to Starbucks to meet a pastor about the possibility of doing some Biblical Counseling work for some of the people in his church. It was going to be a good day.   As …

Lewis   I wonder, if we were to be able to pray through this quote, how many of us who have said we have a “calling” from God would think differently about what that truly means? As missionaries and …

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.”                                                                                                                                 Proverbs 4:7-9   “An MTV executive boldly proclaimed that the channel is not linear, like normal television; we’re not dealing with plot and continuity, we’re dealing with emotion, which is an entirely new way to use the television set…The only people who can understand how to use that television set are the …

Moving On; Getting Past a Materialistic Mindset.

“I am convinced that wise planning is good. But plans, like material possessions, must always be held loosely. Yes-always!”                                                                   -Charles Swindoll   It’s not a secret. There’s no surprise in what I’m about to say. No façade at work here in any way, shape, or form. In fact, when I finally get around to telling you (cause I know the suspense is just killing you?), most of you will react by saying something like, “Well duh!!!” OK, are you ready for the BIG REVEAL? Drum roll please. I, Clay Elliott, like fashion.   I know, I know, …
