Stefan and Alissa Buser
We are Stefan and Alissa Buser. Alissa grew up as a ministry kid with the KMUSA Office and Stefan grew up as a Kontaktmission MK (missionary kid) in Mistelbach, Austria, where we live now. Since Alissa moved to Austria in 2021, we have always prioritized serving our small church here and being involved in the Kontaktmission community and as time goes on our roles in that are becoming more official.
Stefan is a youth social worker in our area and Alissa currently works at the local elementary school as an after-school care teacher. We are extremely active in our small church “Freikirche Mistelbach”
We met in the Kontaktmission MK youth group as teenagers and now we lead it! Especially for Stefan, it was very important and very encouraging to have a connection to other young believers who had similar experiences to him. After the pandemic, we realized that the MKs in KM didn’t really know each other anymore and there wasn’t any kind of organized anything for them, so very soon after Alissa moved to Austria, we started the Online MK Youth group. Our friend, Daniel Tober, who was part of “our generation” of MKs is also a leader. It is such an honor and a blessing to get to do this and we love it.

Online MKs
Our aim for the MissionKids is that they can build friendships and relationships with other young people their age who are in similar situations, and through that be encouraged and strengthened in their faith. The missionaries of Kontaktmission are often in church planting situations where there are no other children and young people the same age as their MKs.
We have a core group of teenagers who live in several different countries (Zambia, Slovakia, and Sweden, to name a few) and we’ve gotten to see them and their friendships grow. We meet at least every two weeks on Zoom and often at other times. We discuss the Bible and relevant topics that come up in their lives. We meet with our youth individually whenever needed and we would like to do this more regularly. We are also in charge of the teen's program at the yearly Kontaktmission retreat every spring.
Mistelbach, Austria
While we don’t actually raise support to work with our church officially, raising support does allow us to invest more time and energy into the church. Eastern Austria is culturally heavily Catholic, but very few people here put much value in faith besides basic morality and traditions.
Mistelbach is a town/area of about 10,000 people and we are the only evangelical church within a 35-minute driving distance. Our church averages about 20-30 people on Sundays. Recently we have been involved in many new things, including a small group for married couples with a focus on discipleship and a kids club. Stefan serves as one of the elders and will likely get more responsibility as time goes on.
Support our ministry
Effective ministry is not accomplished by an individual but by those who are humbly aware of their connection and dependence upon the body of Christ. God designed the body to work together for His purposes and His honor.
We appreciate our supporters because each one is a partner together with us for the sake of the Gospel. We rely on our partners because they have a heart for the lost across Germany and Europe.

Prayer Needs
- Please pray that we are able to support our MKs well and give them the Christ-centered community that they need.
- Pray that our MKs enthusiastically pursue the faith that has totally shaped their lives.
- Pray for our little church in Mistelbach, particularly for the kids and for the discipleship happening in our small group.
