Prayer Thought: But God...

I’ve been struck over the past couple of weeks by this phrase: “But God…” It speaks of His immense care for us as His children. And truly, you’ve got to love the BUTS of the Bible!

Verses like: “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!” (Ephesians 2:4-5)

And: “But God proves His Own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

These verses proclaim that God is not merely for us—He gives Himself to us! Once for all through the sacrifice of Christ, and yet also continually as He lovingly provides for us in our growth toward holiness. He desires for us to know and experience His great love and mercy—not from a distance but intimately, purposefully, and joyfully. What a God we serve! What a Savior we proclaim!

Prayer Action:
So, for the remainder of this week, look up one passage in Scripture that has, "BUT GOD" from the positive side not the negative (there are certainly enough of those as well). Find your own verse(s) and pray through it. Maybe you need to pray it for someone, or maybe you need to be reminded of this simple yet beautiful truth. Praise the Lord that He is, without a doubt, for us in everything and in every way!
