Mary Ellis
I am a thirty something, cat owner, painter, baker, and most importantly Jesus follower that has been living in Dresden, Germany since 2018.
I am currently working with a local team at a church plant called Zeal Dresden. We are a multi-site church plant focused on reaching the people throughout former East Germany. I work in the church office, lead a bilingual small group for internationals, lead a book club, and so much more.
I really love the passion and joy that Zeal has for the people in this region. God has called me to work with an amazing ministry. Please check out my blog for more information about myself and my ministry HERE>>

Bringing the beauty of the Gospel back to Dresden Germany
Dresden is the capital city of Saxony, Germany. Since the 1200s, Dresden has been one of the treasures of the Elbe valley region. The city has beautiful baroque architecture, artistic people, extinguished schools, and a dark history of war and communism. During WW2, Dresden was the location of one the most controversial battles, nearly 80% of the city was decimated.
Following the War, Dresden was ruled by Soviet communism until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Because of this past, I live in one of the most atheist areas of the entire world, with less than .02% Bible-believing Christians.
Today the city is full of life and culture but is spiritually almost dead. With around 600,000 people, there is a large percentage that do not yet know about the Gospel. I am blessed to be working with a local German team that understands this culture and darkness, but are called to shine God´s light and love throughout the region.

Support our ministry
I would be overjoyed if everyone felt the calling to move to Germany to serve the Lord, but I understand that´s improbable.
A more practical calling is to support a missionary who has already done just that! My support team is essential to my ministry. Without their prayers and financial gifts, I would not be able to fulfill God´s calling in my life.
Please prayerfully consider joining my team and being actively a part of sharing the Gospel to the people of Dresden, Germany. “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
Prayer Needs
1. Our location in Dresden is looking for a more permanent location. We currently rent a space on Sunday mornings, that we are outgrowing. Please pray we can find an affordable place that fits our vision.
2. My language acquisition. I have been studying and actively using the language for several years now, but I can and must get better to truly touch the heart of Germans. Prayers for encouragement and knowledge retainment would be greatly appreciated.
3. For former East Germany as a whole, this land truly needs an revival. I can feel the Holy Spirit moving, but this area is so against any sort of belief.
