Sam & Miri Jeanrichard
My wife Miri and I have been married since 2007 and are blessed with two daughters. We have served as native missionaries with the Kontaktmission in Berlin since 2011. In 2022, we decided to temporarily relocate to Faith Church Lafayette, IN, for three years, so that Sam could complete his MDiv degree at Faith Bible Seminary.
This temporary move to the United States has provided invaluable training and experience in biblical counseling within a church-based counseling ministry. The knowledge and practical skills gained during this time will be instrumental in establishing a similar ministry in Berlin.

When the Lights Go Out: Igniting Faith Through Biblical Counseling in Germany
Once the bedrock of the Reformation, East Germany is now considered the most atheistic region in the world, with Berlin often called the “capital of atheism.” Approximately 72% of Berlin’s 3.85 million residents identify as non-religious.
Nationwide, the evangelical presence in Germany is only 2.1%, underscoring the urgent need for biblical outreach and Christ-centered ministry in German-speaking regions.
This spiritual climate, though daunting, presents a unique opportunity: to bring gospel-centered biblical counseling into the heart of a spiritually dry land—offering hope to the hopeless, help to the helpless, and healing to the hurting.
By establishing biblical counseling within the local church in Berlin and equipping others across the German-speaking world, we believe now is the time to DREAM:
- Demonstrate the relevance and power of God’s all-sufficient truth for everyday life.
- Reach the lost and broken with true and lasting gospel hope, unlike the secular and integrative approaches common in culture.
- Equip believers to confront life’s challenges through a biblical worldview.
- Advance discipleship and spiritual maturity within the local church.
- Multiply faithful biblical counselors for future ministry impact.
In the face of growing spiritual emptiness, the gospel still speaks. And biblical counseling gives it a voice.

Support our ministry
It is no secret that from the very beginning of the church Christians have taken an active role in being missionaries and sending missionaries. Yet not all are called to be missionaries. (We are all called to make disciples)
We seek additional financial support to continue advancing biblical counseling in Germany. Our annual budget is $60,000, which covers living expenses and ministry costs. By God’s immense grace and trustworthy goodness, he already uses faithful friends, EGB, and EBTC to provide 70% of our budget.
We trust God to provide the remaining 30% ($1,500/month) needed to fulfill our ministry goals.
This support will enable us to—Lord willingly—train the next generation in Germany to counsel biblically for God's glory by developing training programs, establishing biblical counseling at Eckstein Gemeinde Berlin, and serving as an instructor in biblical counseling at the EBTC.
Would you prayerfully evaluate joining us in developing biblical counseling in Berlin and the German-speaking area? We would be grateful to discuss this opportunity with you and answer any questions you might have about our ministry.
Prayer Needs
Prayer is the foundation of our ministry. We recognize our complete dependence on God's grace, goodness, faithfulness, control, and wisdom for every aspect of this work. We earnestly desire your partnership in prayer, knowing that through your intercession, God will work greatly to transform lives and advance his kingdom in Berlin and beyond. Please join us in prayer that…
- Our family's transition to Germany and our daughters' schooling would glorify God.
- counseling sessions would exalt Christ and his sufficient Word.
- God would be magnified as biblical counseling advances in Berlin.
- Training programs would produce counselors reflecting God's wisdom.
- church partnerships would display Christ's unifying power.
- God's provision would demonstrate His sovereign care.
