We are the Jordan family—a family of six joyfully following Jesus. Our crew includes Nathan and Lauren, along with our four wonderful children: Lydia, Levi, Maggie, and little Benjamin. Our days are filled with the sweet chaos of young children, the comforting aroma of fresh sourdough, and the simple joy of a hot cup of coffee. We treasure deep fellowship, meaningful conversation, and walking closely with others in intentional discipleship.
As a family, we are humbled and excited to follow the Lord wherever He leads—and right now, that path is pointing us to the beautiful country of Ireland.
When we first visited Ireland, it didn’t take long for us to fall in love. We were drawn in by the breathtaking landscape, the richness of the culture and history, and, most of all, by the warmth and authenticity of the people. The church community there captured our hearts in a profound way. Their love for the Gospel was unmistakable. We saw a people committed to proclaiming Christ, devoted to the teaching of the Word, and eager to cultivate genuine, intentional fellowship.
We are deeply moved by their faithfulness, and we feel honored to come alongside what God is already doing in Ireland. Our hearts are full of anticipation as we step forward in obedience, trusting Him to work in and through us for His glory.
The Urgency of Hope in Ireland
The situation in Ireland demands urgent attention. Among all English-speaking countries worldwide, Ireland stands with the lowest percentage of evangelical Christians. Less than 1% (30,000 individuals) identify as evangelical Christians. In the 2022 census, Catholicism was the largest religious group with 69% (3.5 million) of the population, although the majority of them are non-active.
The second-largest group was "no religion" at 14%. Ireland's secularization has brought about rapid negative changes, leading to high levels of anxiety, depression, and suicide, ranking among the highest in Europe.
However, amidst these challenges, there is hope. The process of secularization has also sparked a deep yearning and quest for foundational truths and hope in a fractured world. The gospel has a renewed opportunity in Ireland to guide people towards the hope and peace they desperately seek.
