Urtan & Elsida Kollonata
Hello! We are Urtan and Elsida. We live in Korce, Albania with our three children: Serena, 9, Isabel, 6, and Jonathan, 2. Urtan was born and raised in Korce, while Elsida was born in Fier.
For years we have been dedicated to serving in the church with the great desire to make disciples for Christ and to reach the lost. Our family is passionate about seeing the kingdom of God come into the lives of the people we work with within the community. Korca is one of the largest cities in Albania with a population of 130,531. Together with my wife, we are dedicated to serving God because we want to see as many saved people as possible who return to Christ, the Savior of the world.
We are working hard to stabilize all the ministries of the church and to raise new ministries that will affect the growth and strengthening of the church, but will also affect the help of the community where we live and work. Everything we do must focus on growing the church and touching the community through Jesus Christ.
We thank God who is using us to announce the good news and bring them the Kingdom of God, which was rejected for years because of communism. Our services are numerous and this is to leave no age group or community untouched by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

ALBANIA: DESIRING WHAT GOD DESIRES; THAT ALL MAY COME TO KNOW HIM!
Growing up through the Word of God, I began to serve in the church helping first in the Bible study groups and then in the youth group. In 2003, although at a young age and not for many years in the faith, I began to lead the youth of the church, leading it for 17 years. Then in 2004 I started leading a Bible study group and in 2005 I started teaching (preaching) at the church.
In addition to serving in various church and leadership capacities throughout the years, I was also involved in a variety of ministries that strongly influenced the unity of the local churches of the Korça district. In 2006, together with leaders and believers of local churches, a Prayer-Worship group was started that organized meetings twice a year with most of the local churches in the district. Then, seeing the great lack of Christian materials on the Internet in the Albanian language, I began to post many audio-visual materials on social networks, influencing the encouragement of many Christian believers and the evangelization of many Albanians.
In 2014, I came into contact with the Jesus.net ministry through my close brother in Christ, Missionary Kenneth Haggard, who served for 7 years in Albania, influencing the encouragement of church services and my spiritual growth. The online evangelism ministry had a great impact on young people who heard the gospel through evangelistic videos, images and posts. UnedheZoti.net and other social sites still continue to evangelize through online media and many people hear about the gospel of Jesus Christ. In June 2020, I became the Pastor of the Word of Life Church in Korça. I have been serving as the main pastor for almost 3 years and it is noticeable that the church is growing and getting stronger in all directions.
Together with my wife, we are dedicated to serving God because we want to see as many saved people as possible who return to Christ, the Savior of the world. We are working hard to stabilize all current services and add new services. Stabilizing local churches in villages and planting new churches. The work with the youth of the church is going very well and most of the members of the church are young people eager for the Word of God. For many years, the church has been taking care of people in need by giving them a meal or delivering food packages to their families. About 170 people received their food during the pandemic and now 100 of them still continue to come about 4 times a week.
We thank God that he is using us to announce the good news and to bring the Kingdom of God closer to where it was forbidden for years.
Support our ministry
It is no secret that from the very beginning of the church Christians have taken an active role in being missionaries and sending missionaries. Yet not all are called to be missionaries. (We are all called to make disciples)
Being a missionary is a calling, but have you ever considered that sending missionaries is also a calling? So what is your calling? Are you the missionary or a missionary sender?
All Kontaktmission staff live on support, meaning we believe that God will provide for his mission, through his church.
Please consider joining our sending team by partnering with us in prayer and partnering with us financially.
- Prayer that God will give us more strength, wisdom, and more fruit as we serve by reaching the lost.
- We want to have a building for the local church in Korça where the ministries grow, strengthen, and have more impact in the community and to have more stability.
- Prayer to find a building for rent in one of the villages where we want to open a new church. (That village usually doesn’t give their buildings for rent)
