Doctrinal Statement of Kontaktmission’s team members
Staff members of Kontaktmission hold to the truths of the Christian faith revealed in the Holy Scriptures. We emphasize the following essentials, which are important for understanding the faith. These are not church policies, but rather basic faith tenets.
We believe:
In the divine plenary inspiration, infallibility, and authority of the Holy Scriptures.
In the Trinity of the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In the utter sinfulness and guilt of fallen mankind, making him liable to God’s wrath and condemnation.
In the vicarious sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as sole and sufficient basis of redemption from the guilt and power of sin.
In the justification of the sinner by God’s grace alone on the basis of faith in Jesus Christ crucified and risen bodily from the dead.
In the Holy Spirit, who brings about conversion and regeneration, and dwells in the believer, enabling him to live a holy life.
In the priesthood of all believers, who constitute the worldwide church, the body of which Christ is the Head, and commanded by Him to proclaim the gospel worldwide.
In the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory, and in the bodily resurrection of all men: the believers to eternal glory, the unbelievers to eternal damnation.
Note: With regard to the so-called “charismatic movement” and the gifts of the Spirit, Kontaktmission both affirms Scripture and takes its stance with evangelicalism as over against those charismatic theologies which promote a “second blessing” and/or extra-biblical manifestations such as “slaying in the Spirit” or “laughing in the Spirit” and others.
The Frankfurt Declaration – Abridged excerpt. This document has been used as a guideline by many mission organizations in Europe.
The Commission of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ and His work of salvation alone determine the basis, goal, and task of Christian Missions and the content of its proclamation. The basis of Mission lies in the essence of the Gospel.
The first and primary objective of Mission is to glorify the name of the one true God throughout the whole earth and to proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ our Savior, truly God and truly Man, as He is presented to us in the mystery of His person and His work of salvation in the Holy Scriptures, is the basis, content, and mandate of our mission.
Mission is the witness to and presentation of eternal salvation through the substitution of Jesus Christ by his church and his authorized messengers. This salvation is based on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ offered on the cross once for all for the whole of humanity.
Missionary proclamation should result in the planting of the Church of Jesus Christ, which represents a new reality functioning as salt and light in the surrounding society.
The offer of salvation in Jesus Christ is addressed to all men without exception who have not yet come to conscious faith in Him.
From Christ’s resurrection until His return, the Christian world mission constitutes the decisive and continuing saving work of God among the nations of the world. The preaching of the Gospel confronts fresh peoples and individuals with the decision for or against Christ.
