Julie Lowe

Julie Lowe

Born in Vancouver, Canada, Julie has studied piano performance with some of the world’s most renowned musicians (Lee Kum Sing, Guenter Ludwig and the Amadeus Quartet) in some of the most prestigious institutions (University of British Columbia, Canada, Musikhochschule in Koeln, Germany, and the Universitaet fuer Musik and Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria). She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour when she was 13.

Since 2014, Julie has had the privilege to combine her spiritual and musical backgrounds into a unique ministry, whereby she parallels the personal challenges which she has gone through with those of many classical composers. Encouraging the audience to reflect on their own life events, she brings them to consider what difference a relationship with Jesus Christ could make in their lives as He has made in hers.

Julie also has a deep heart for smaller churches, independent missionaries and anyone who wants to reach the lost with the powerful, relevant and life-transforming message of Christ's redemption. The concert ministry allows Christ followers the opportunity to invite their non-Christian friends and family who might not go to church for a Sunday sermon but may be willing to go to a classical piano recital and there, hear how God works through our trials and what it means to have Him in our lives. The event also opens doors for those at the hosting church or home to welcome in new people with the opportunity to show them the face and hospitality of Christ.  Although many churches cannot afford the costs needed to host such a concert, your gifting would enable them to fulfill God’s Great Commission in this unique manner.

In addition to the concert ministry, Julie co-founded and continues to co-lead the single parents’ support group at Tenth Church in Vancouver in 2012.  During Covid, she began an online International Evangelism Class which meets weekly and has included outreach minded Christians from Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Germany and the United States.

Your support would allow Jesus to continue His work through Julie to reach and encourage thousands who have attended the testimony concerts, experienced His healing love and learned how to share Christ with their family and friends.

Thank you very much in advance for your financial partnership and prayers, and may the Lord bless you as only He can!

Music That Crosses Every Border

Using the universal language of music, this ministry has no borders or barriers. Julie has performed the testimony concerts in English and German, and the first program, “Testimony of Hope,” has been translated into Albanian, Bosnian, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. The themes she addresses (unworthiness, betrayal, depression, cancer, etc.) are understood by all ages, classes, cultures, and societies. One of her favorite feedback comments sums the heart of this ministry. This is from an audience member from her first tour to Ishinomaki, an area which was hit hard by the 2011 tsunami:

"I felt as though I was having a dialogue with your piano music and with God in the church. Your talk has spoken to me into my heart, and that was a special time. I received healing and strength by the wonder of your music. Your message matched the choice of music so wonderfully, and it was a concert graced by your gentle words and filled with God’s love. When I heard your encouraging and warm message the ice in my heart began to melt and tears kept on flowing and I could not contain myself. Your warmth and music were just like a shower over my whole body and my heart was cleansed."

Many places the Lord has brought me to have very small congregations. Japan has less than 1% Christians and a "large" church for them has perhaps 7 or 10 members. Many attendees of Brazil's concerts were impoverished financially and spiritually. Despite Europe's reputation as a historically Christian rich continent, the churches today are mostly filled with tourists looking at the stained glass windows rather than the blood stained Cross. These and future congregations do not have the means to bring in an artist with a message.

However, together we can change this. By alleviating the travel costs needed to bring a testimony concert to the local churches, we can encourage them as well as non-believers through a unique evangelistic event. where God can work on peoples' hearts.

Prayer Needs

  1. Please pray that churches, missionaries, organizations and lay Christians would see the events as true outreach opportunities, not a "piano concert with Julie."
  2. Please pray that supporters would feel led to partner with me so that smaller organizers would not feel pressured to pay for the travel, accommodation and meal costs needed for me to give a concert, or feel discouraged or hesitant to engage in the Great Commission due to a small outreach budget.
  3. Please pray that I would be physically, spiritually, emotionally and musically fit for this ministry
  4. Please pray that others would be inspired and encouraged to use their gifts for Jesus' glory, too, and that I would be able to facilitate that in some way.
