Prayer Thought: But God…

I’ve been struck the past couple of weeks with this phrase, “But God…” It speaks to His immense care for us as His children. Plus, ya gotta love the BUTS of the Bible! Verses like, “BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace (Eph. 2:4-5)!” And, “BUT GOD proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8)!” communicate that God is not only for us, but He actually gives Himself and gives OF Himself to us as saints…once for all! Yet He also continues to intimately provide for us as we grow in sanctification. He desires for us to know and experience His great love and mercy; intimately, purposefully, joyfully.

Prayer Action:

So, for the remainder of this week, look up one passage in Scripture that has, “BUT GOD” from the positive side not the negative (there are certainly enough of those as well). Find your own verse(s) and pray through it. Maybe you need to pray it for someone, or maybe you need to be reminded of this simple yet beautiful truth. Praise the Lord that He is, without a doubt, for us in everything and in every way

Blessings,
