Prayer Thought: Enthralled in His Presence
“He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me (Ps. 18:19)”
“Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart (Ps. 37:4)”
The Advanced English Dictionary’s simplest definition of the word delight is; “to give pleasure to or, to be pleasing to.” But I prefer to define delight as a verb; “To hold spellbound. To enchant, enrapture, transport, enthrall, ravish.”
When was the last time you could remember being spellbound by God’s presence? Enraptured? Enthralled? Transported? God delights in us with shouts of joy and singing. Delight shouldn’t just be over good circumstances that we find ourselves in. What happens to our delight [in God] when these circumstances don’t turn out to be very delightful? We should delight in a Good God who commands us in various ways to find delight in this life, especially in Him, in any and all circumstances.
This week as you pray, focus on the things that God has graciously allowed you to find delight in. Praise Him for being the delight of your heart, and that He would be so continually. Pray that your delighted heart would be light for those you come in contact with this week. Enjoy and delight yourself in God’s presence each day…He delights in you!
Prayer Action:
Heavenly Father, thank You for delighting in me. I ask that I become more and more delighted and enthralled with Your presence each and every day. Help me to be vigilant in seeing delight all around me this week. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
Blessings,
