“The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become-because He made us. He invented us. He invented all the different people that you and I were intended to be…It is when I turn to Christ, when I give up myself to His personality, that I first begin to have a real personality of my own.”

-C.S. Lewis

I wonder, if we were to be able to pray through this quote, how many of us who have said we have a “calling” from God would think differently about what that truly means? As missionaries and even mission-minded folks, we aspire to look to Christ for who we are intended to be. So, would we be comfortable with the Lord refining us and reworking things within us…to the point of taking us somewhere we never thought we would go/be? Interesting thought to ponder, don’t you think? How will you adjust your life, your heart, your ministry efforts and desires to allow God to take you over, instead of trying so desperately to control the outcome yourself?

Prayer: God do whatever you need to do to me in order to make me into something different than what I am. I’m willing because my whole life is Yours. Amen

Blessings,

Clay
