We are Benjamin and Christine, together with our children Leon, Mateo, and Silas. Our hearts beat for people, the church, and mission.
For many years, we’ve been actively involved in our local church in Aschaffenburg, Germany — especially in youth ministry. As a family, we love sharing life, learning from others, and traveling together.
Early in our marriage, we spent a formative year in Greece, and ever since, we’ve carried a deep love for this region.
After opening our home and hearts to young people in our area, God has now opened a new door: He’s calling us to serve in Greece.
Starting in September 2025, we’ll join the Kingfisher Project on the island of Skopelos. As house parents, we’ll help complete the buildings, care for Bible school students, volunteers, and guests, and support camps and retreats.
We’re excited to encourage the next generation — not just to know the Gospel, but to live it and share it daily.
Where Discipleship Meets the Deep: The Kingfisher Story
The Kingfisher Project was founded in 1996 by Theo Goutzios and his wife, Sandra. United by a shared vision, they traveled to Greece to create a place where young people could discover the Christian faith, deepen their understanding, and learn to live it out in everyday life.
Their journey began at the foot of Mount Olympus in northern Greece, where they launched a simple campsite ministry.
A major turning point came in 1999. Tony Turner, a boatbuilder and passionate Christian from Harare, Zimbabwe, had a dream: to build a sailing ship that would carry the Gospel to the islands, strengthen young believers, and offer practical discipleship. He invited Theo to continue that mission aboard the newly built ship, Genevieve.
In the years that followed, countless young people were impacted by the sailing project — encountering God at sea, through life on board, and in daily discipleship.
Today, the Kingfisher Project is charting new waters. The Bible school and retreat center have found a permanent home on the island of Skopelos, where the original vision lives on:
A place where people can encounter faith, grow, and discover their calling.
