Helene Atkins
I'm Helene Atkins, and I live in Nashville, Tennessee, though my twin sister and I were born in Manchester, England, UK. My formative years were spent between New Jersey, USA; Wales, UK; and Denmark, giving me a unique international perspective and appreciation for different cultures. I later settled in Maryland, USA for many years before eventually moving to Nashville to support my husband’s career as a saxophonist.
About a year and a half ago, I was laid off from my corporate role as a Digital and User Interface Designer. After more than a year of searching for a new position without success, I began to realize that God had a different plan in mind.
Through a connection in my small group, I learned that the director of Kontaktmission, Rob, was in need of a new designer after his previous designer left to pursue a calling to preach. What initially seemed like a difficult season became a clear example of God’s providence. Today, I serve part-time as the Graphic Designer & Social Media Manager for Kontaktmission, using my creative and professional background to support the ministry’s mission of reaching the lost of Europe with the Gospel.
I am passionate about the work God is doing through Kontaktmission and believe that every believer plays a role in fulfilling the Great Commission, whether by serving on the mission field directly or by supporting missionaries through recruitment, provision, prayer, encouragement, and practical ministry support from home.
A Mission Field Few People See
This is an incredible opportunity to engage with Kontaktmission’s followers and viewers around the world, especially throughout Europe. It is a deeply important ministry because Europe is one of the largest mission fields on earth, yet many people do not realize it.
Out of the nearly 750 million people living in Europe, only about 4% are followers of Jesus. That means well over 700 million people are still lost and in need of the hope of the Gospel.
Every post, story, update, and message shared through this ministry is ultimately about pointing people to Christ and supporting those who are faithfully taking the Gospel into spiritually dark places across Europe.
Support our ministry
Not all are called to be international missionaries, but we are all called to make disciples of all nations. Have you ever considered that sending, supporting, praying for, and encouraging missionaries is also a calling to ministry? It is! We support them in their endeavor to follow the Great Commission, and thereby, we do as well. I serve in a part-time capacity, but Kontaktmission needs me serving on a full-time basis. Beyond social media, there are needs to update and maintain the website. Additionally, there are other graphic design needs such as banner and brochure etc. creation. Prayer Needs
Pray that the social media campaign would flourish and not only reach the lost, but also those interested in missions, so they can then reach the lost in specific countries, thereby multiplying believers.
