Shane and Stephanie Hedin

We are the Hedin family—a family of seven joyfully following Jesus. Our crew includes Shane and Stephanie, along with our five wonderful children.

In 2022, we started a new church called The Refinery Christian Church. That year, we took a big step and went on our first mission trip to Poland. After we came home, Shane and I both felt God calling us to full-time ministry—right there in the place that had captured our hearts from the start.

Since then, we’ve served every summer in Poland and have also had the chance to serve in Romania and with our family in Sweden. Our calling to Poland keeps growing stronger. Looking back, it’s clear God has been guiding every step—even things like homeschooling our kids—to prepare us for this mission.

Poland: A Land of Tradition, A Field Ready for Harvest

With deep Catholic roots, Poland is often seen as a religious nation. Most people identify as Catholic, but beneath the surface, only about 0.3% are Bible-believing Christians who regularly gather for worship and actively follow Jesus. While religious tradition is strong, personal faith is often distant. Many know about Jesus, but few truly know Him.

Yet something is stirring.

All across Poland, hearts are quietly searching for hope, for truth, for more. This hunger makes Poland a place of incredible promise for gospel work.

The need is clear. Churches that teach the Bible faithfully, disciple believers deeply, and live out the love of Christ are rare but desperately needed. Where the gospel is preached with clarity and compassion, lives are being transformed.

A striking example stands in Piotrków, where an old prison has become a living church. What once held captives now sets people free through Christ. It’s more than a building, it’s a sign of what God is doing across Poland.

Now is the time to plant, to preach, to build. The field is ready.

Support our ministry

Missions have always been a team effort. Some are called to go, and others are called to send. Throughout Scripture, we see God’s people coming alongside those He sends out. It was the biblical norm for God’s people to support God’s workers. Paul talks about it, Jesus modeled it, and that’s still how missions move forward today: through the faithful prayers and generosity of the Church.

You can be a vital part of this mission by simply praying with us, and if you feel led, by partnering financially with us. Your support, whether through prayer, encouragement, or giving, means more than you know. We truly can’t do this alone, and we’re so grateful to have people like you walking alongside us.

Prayer Needs

We ask for your prayers during this time, for God’s guidance as we take each step

  1. Pray for the Lord to prepare our family, especially our kids, as we get ready for this big move.
  2. Please pray for our hearts and minds to stay focused on His plan, and for peace and strength as we walk into this new season of ministry.
